Biographical Info
My research focuses on understanding galaxy formation and evolution across a range of physical scales. I use spectroscopy and full-spectrum stellar population modelling to characterize the stellar initial mass function (IMF), elemental abundances, and formation histories of galaxies, with much of my recent work focused on massive, quiescent galaxies. I work extensively with JWST observations and am involved in collaborations including SUSPENSE and IMFERNO, which use resolved and integrated spectroscopy to study the assembly and evolution of distant galaxies. I am also leading a JWST Cycle 5 NIRCam imaging program investigating the role of mergers in galaxy evolution. Additionally, I make use of large spectroscopic surveys, such as LEGA-C and SDSS. I am broadly interested in developing and applying observational and modelling techniques that connect the detailed properties of stellar populations to the physical processes driving galaxy evolution across cosmic time.
