This is a research course for PhD students who wish to widen their research experience beyond that of of their PhD thesis. The research project carried out for this course would be specifically with a faculty member other than the student’s advisor, on a topic significantly removed from the student’s thesis, and requires the submission of a journal paper as the final product. The research project must be approved and reviewed in progress by the student’s PhD committee.
