Canada commits its share of funds for Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT)
07 Apr 2015On April 6, 2015, Prime Minister Stephen Harper announced the Government of Canada’s intention to provide significant support for the Thirty Meter Telescope (TMT) which will be built in Hawaii, at the summit of the Mauna Kea site. The funding commitment is up to $243.5 million over 10 years.
Canada’s investment will also secure a viewing share for Canadian researchers once the telescope is operational.
