Nov 22 Revised proposals to Kristen & advisor Submission through online Form.
Dec (1st Week) Presentations of the proposals 10 min + discussion
Dec 31, Jan 31, etc... Monthly project summary 2-3 paragraphs, emailed to Kristen & advisor. Results (figures, etc) very welcome!
Jan (3rd Week) Mid-course presentations 10 min + discussion
Feb (Last Week) Give Kristen a list of your top few choices for AST 1500 (summer) projects Email to Kristen
March (Third Week) Declare AST 1500 project & advisor; begin prep. for summer work New advisor should agree; include advisor on each email!
March 28 Draft Final write-up due ApJ Letter length & format, or actual paper draft [Details TBD. Naming convention: menou_report.pdf

March 30 Comments due on two peers' final write-ups Submission through online Form.
April 4 Final version of final report due -Work with advisor to identify an external evaluator
-Ensure advisor & external have report at least 48 hrs before the presentation
Second Week of April AST1501 Final presentations (Schedule TBD) 20 min. + questions. Make sure advisor & external can attend! (Electronically is fine.)
April 29 Proposal due for AST 1500 summer project Same format as AST1501 proposals. Submission through online Form.
May 31, June 31, Aug 31 AST 1500 monthly reports ... as usual
June (3rd Week) AST 1500 Mid-summer presentations (Schedule TBD) Short (12min) presentation of the project, current status, and any difficulties
August (3rd Week) AST 1500 final writeups due. Same format as 1501 writeups. Submission through online Form.
August (Last Week) AST 1500 final presentations Ensure writeups delivered by 48hr before!! Same format & guidelines as 1501 (Schedule TBD) Please follow the same procedure as for AST 1501:
-arrange for an external prof.
-deliver report to advisor & external at least 48hr before presentation
-attend peers' presentations and ask great questions!!
