The following advertisement for a post-doctoral fellow is being placed on the AAS and CASCA job registers:

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Position in the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics at the University of Toronto. The successful applicant will work with E.R. Seaquist and a small group in the area of sub-mm emission from the ISM of starburst and IR luminous galaxies. Research themes include the modeling of conditions in gas and dust associated with starburst activity, the study of superwinds and molecular gas ejected from the disks of active galaxies.

Canada has a share in several international facilities including the JCMT, Gemini and CFHT, and research support includes travel to these and other observing facilities around the world. The Department is situated adjacent to the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics, affording an opportunity to interact with theorists.

Applicants must have a PhD in Astronomy/Physics and have expertise in the relevant research areas. The appointment will be made initially for one year, with a possible renewal for up to two additional years. Applicants are requested to send a CV, statement of research interests, and the names of three references. The deadline for applications is October 31, 2002. The starting date is flexible, but will be sometime in early 2003.
