About

I'm Guadalupe Lizana, I'm from Chile, from a city called Punta Arenas, in the far south of Chile. This picture is of Torres del Paine National Park, which is about 6 hours away from Punta Arenas. I'm BSc (PUC Chile) and MSc (RUG Netherlands) in Astronomy, currently doing my PhD at the University of Toronto. My favourite area is Extragalactic Astrophysics, but I also enjoy doing public outreach when I can.

Brief interview (in Spanish) of one of my first outreach activities at Escuela Villa Las Nieves in Punta Arenas, Chile (2018).

Giving scientific support to science groups of elementary high schools in Puerto Natales, Chile (2019).

Study and travel is possible

During my 2 years living in the Netherlands, in a beautiful city called Groningen, while I was doing my MSc, I learned to travel. So I was able to visit: Rotterdam, Duderstadt, Barcelona, Paris, Reykjavik, Brussels, La Palma, London, Salsbury, Prague, Southampton, Bournemouth, Amsterdam, The Hague, Dublin, Rome and Florence.
