A VI CM diagram by Ortolani et al. (1999) shows an extended blue HB with no evidence for a red HB. Their diagram does not extend faint enough to define a blue straggler region. Stephens & Frogel (2004) estimated [Fe/H] = -1.35 +/- 0.09 from a spectroscopic study of 5 giant stars. The data for V1 are from the discovery paper by Matsunaga et al. (2006). ===================================================================== Discovery of the variable stars in NGC 6256 V1 Matsunaga et al.
