(2010). The data for V1-62 in the above table are from their study unless indicated otherwise in the notes on individual stars. NOTE that the mean V values that Zorotovic et al. (2010) published, and listed in the above table, were corrected for reddening according to a method described in an earlier paper (Zorotovic et al. 2009). The data for V63-73 are from the discovery paper of Figuera Jaimes et al. (2016). ====================================================================== Notes on individual stars V16: The RA and dec for V16 are from Samus et al. (2009) and the remaining data are from Liller & Lichten (1978). V16 was outside the field observed by Zorotovic et al. (2010). V19, V22, V23, V24: These stars were selected by Gerashchenko et al. (1997) as possible RR Lyrae variables based only on their position in the CM diagram. Zorotovic et al. (2010) did not detect variability in any of them. They concluded that V19 and V24 were probably blended in the images of Gerashchenko and that V22 and V23 were blue HB stars, close to the instability strip. The RA and dec for these stars are from Samus et al. (2009). It should be noted that there is a systematic difference between the decs derived by Samus and by Zorotovic et al. among the stars common to both studies, in the sense that Zorotovic's values are approximately 6 arcseconds south of the ones derived by Samus. Their RA values agree to within 1 arcsecond. V37, V39, V40, V41, V43, V46, V50, V55, V56, V57, V58: These stars were later observed by Figuera Jaimes et al. (2016). The periods listed for these stars are from their study. The declinations derived by Figuera Jaimes et al. for these stars were approximately 6 arcseconds south of those derived by Zorotovic et al. (2010). Their RA values agree to within 1 arcsecond. The coordinates derived by Figuera Jaimes et al. (2016) for these stars are listed here: V37 13:46:27.28 -51:22:51.6 V39 13:46:25.46 -51:22:46.8 V40 13:46:26.92 -51:22:44.2 V41 13:46:26.58 -51:22:42.9 V43 13:46:26.73 -51:22:38.1 V46 13:46:27.47 -51:22:33.9 V50 13:46:25.98 -51:22:30.3 V55 13:46:25.40 -51:22:25.8 V56 13:46:25.11 -51:22:24.3 V57 13:46:27.79 -51:22:20.7 V58 13:46:26.63 -51:22:19.3 ======================================================================= Discovery of the variable stars in NGC 5286: V1-8 Fourcade et al. (1966) with x,y coordinates and an ID chart V1 was previously announced as HV 4794 by Hoffleit (1930) V9-14 announced by Fourcade et al. (1975, 1978) The x,y coordinates and ID charts were published by Liller & Lichten (1978) based on a preprint of the Fourcade et al. (1978) paper. V15-16 Liller & Lichten (1978) with x,y coordinates and ID charts V17-24 = suspected RR Lyrae variables V1-8 Gerashchenko et al. (1997) with x,y coordinates and an ID chart The selection was based on the stars' location in the CM diagram. The numbers V17-24 were assigned by Clement et al. (2001). There is some confusion about the numbering of these stars because the coordinates Gerashchenko et al. listed in their Table 1 for #4, #5 and #6 did not match the positions labelled on their Figure 2 ID chart. In fact, #6 was not labelled on their chart, but two stars were labelled as #5. A correction to the Gerashchenko et al. paper was later reported by one of the authors, Malakhova and was appended as a "Corrigenda" to the original paper on the NASA ADS website. In the above table, V20 is the star labelled as #4 on the chart of Gerashchenko et al. and V21 is the more southern of the two stars labelled as #5. The other #5 is listed as V22. In a separate paper (Kadla et al. 1998), the same authors announced x,y coordinates for 12 suspected RR Lyrae variables, 7 of which had been listed in the 1997 study, but in the 1998 paper, they assigned different numbers and did not cite their 1997 paper. It is worth noting however, that Kadla (1998) #11 & #8 = V30 & V33 = Zorotovic NV6 & NV9. V25-62 = NV1-38 Zorotovic et al. (2010) with RA, dec and ID charts The numbers V25-62 have been assigned in this catalogue. V63-73 Figuera Jaimes et al.
