Periods, magnitudes, amplitudes and variablity types For V1-2 are from 
Rosino & Pinto (1973).  The RA and dec are from Samus et al. (2009)

According to Burbidge & Sandage (1958), there are no RR Lyrae in Pal 4,
a result confirmed by Stetson et al. (1999). The CM diagram has a red HB
that does not extend blueward to the instability strip.

Discovery of the variable stars in Pal 4:

  V1-2 
    Rosino (1957) with x,y positions and ID chart
    In 1957, Palomar 4 was called Abell No. 4
    Burbidge & Sandage (1958) also published an ID chart (Figure 3).
    V1 is their #44 and V2 is their #25.
