Welcome to my website!

I am Niloufar (Nilou), a PhD student in Astronomy and Astrophysics at University of Toronto working with Professors Christopher Matzner and Dae-Sik Moon. I am mainly insterested in time domain astronomy in optical wavelengths, especially fast transients, nova, and the early light curve analysis of supernova. My thesis work has both theoretical and observeration components: I develope light curve models based on hydrodynimcal simulations and apply them on real supernova data from KMTNet Supernova Project. KMTNet is a network of three 1.65m telescope with relatively wide viewing angle (4 square degrees) located at similar latitude of ~-30 degrees in the southern hemisphere.
