UofT Science Abroad Program

Calling all students!!

Want to travel across the world, learn and experience new cultures,
indulge in magnificent foods, and, in most cases, earn a full-year
University of Toronto credit at the same time? Here?s how you can do
just that.

The University of Toronto Summer Abroad Program is a one-of-a-kind
program that takes ordinary classroom learning to a whole new level.
Students can choose from courses offered in locations around the
world, from North America to Europe, Africa, Asia, and South America.
Among our original line up of courses in a range of fields and
disciplines, for our second year, we have introduced the Science
Abroad Program, which offers students the ability to participate in
several prestigious research facilities around the world such as the
Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope in India and the Large Hadron Collider
at CERN in Switzerland.

Astrophysics in India:
Earn a CTA396Y0 credit while gaining hands-on experience using
technology to detect, seek out and eliminate sources of radio
interference at the Giant Metrewave Radio Telescope campus, the
world's largest array of radio telescopes at metre wavelengths.
Program Dates:  May 28 to July 6 (6 weeks)

Physics in Switzerland:
Earn a PHY396Y0 credit while working with senior ATLAS scientists who
are recreating the conditions at the birth of the universe at CERN,
the European Organization for Nuclear Research.  Students will work on
a project analyzing Large Hadron Collider data.
Program Dates:  May 9 to August 26 (16 weeks)

Scholarships/Bursaries/Awards, towards successful applicants. Please
check us out online for more information on our Financial Assistance
programs as our DEADLINE FOR SUMMER ABROAD FINANCIAL AID is fast
approaching FEBRUARY 1, 2012.
