Cosmic Frontiers Pre-Show Performances

Pre-show performances happen inside Convocation Hall before the lecture.
All pre-show performances begin at 6:40 pm.

Lectures 1 and 4:

Composer-pianist and visual artist John Farah merges the soundworlds of baroque counterpoint, improvisation, ambient minimalism and techno (IDM) to create a music that crosses time and dimension. His music and visual art focus on exchanges of physical, spiritual and emotional energy on both a macro-cosmic and microscopic level.

Astronomer John Dubinski combines expertise in supercomputer simulation and animation to produce realistic, awe-inspiring depictions of galaxy dynamics and interactions at extreme levels numerical resolution.

Dubinski and Farah have collaborated during the past year on a project called GRAVITAS that combines their talents to create a unique blend of art and science. Farah has created original compositions to accompany Dubinski's visualizations to create a spiritual and uplifting vision of cosmic evolution.

Kameel Farah will be performing GRAVITAS live at the Music Gallery, St.George-the-Martyr Church, 197 John St. 416.204.1080 on October 14 and 15.
