The Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics is a nationally supported research center for studies in theoretical astronomy and related subjects hosted by the University of Toronto. CITA’s primary missions are to foster interaction within the Canadian theoretical astrophysics community and to serve as an international center of excellence for theoretical studies in astrophysics.

The Dunlap Institute for Astronomy & Astrophysics continues the legacy of the David Dunlap Observatory of answering fundamental questions about the Universe and developing innovative means to find those answers. With a focus on instrumentation, the institute creates a dynamic, international centre for astronomy in partnership with the University of Toronto’s Department of Astronomy & Astrophysics and the Canadian Institute for Theoretical Astrophysics.
