At a Glance

The library was founded in 1935 along with the David Dunlap Observatory. Its primary mandate is to serve the research and reference needs of faculty and graduate students of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics and of the staff of CITA.

The Astronomy and Astrophysics Library's collection consists of approximately 25,000 volumes and is primarily devoted to astronomy and astrophysics material. It does include physics, mathematics and computer science materials of interest to astronomers and astrophysicists.

Undergraduate students and members of the general public may use the library in a reference capacity only, however we suggest you check the Gerstein Science Information Centre first. Please call first to set up an appointment.
